Privacy policy for CH Control

This document describes what information is accessed or collected by CH Control and how it is used. It also describes use of Android permissions.

Crash reports

Whenever CH Control app crashes, a crash report containing anonymous crash data is collected. This data is used for fixing crashes and improve CH Control app. Sending this collected crash report to the developer requires user interaction and is is done by email.
The user can choose at any time to interrupt sending process.

Access to streaming services

CH Control allows the user to optionally access media (music, videos, images) hosted by these cloud services: TIDAL and Qobuz. The sole purpose is to access media hosted by these services for playback on devices supported by CH Control app. Each cloud service can only be accessed after the user granted access to it by authenticating to the service. Each cloud service is accessed securely, using encryption via TLS. The user can revoke access to a cloud service at any time in-app by deleting the account.

Use of permissions

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Those permissions are used to locally backup/restore user generated playlists.

• FOREGROUND_SERVICE / WAKE_LOCK

  Those permissions are used to try maintain the CH Control app running.

• INTERNET / CONNECTIVITY_CHANGE / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE

Those permissions are used to allow CH Control app communication with CH devices.
